Maria Migliarese

Maria Migliarese, 87, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Maria was born on June 21, 1935, in Minturno, Italy, daughter of the late Giovanni and Elvira Iasevoli Esposito.
Maria worked for Pitney Bowes for 21 years until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Society and the St. Padre Pio Rosary Society, a longtime member of the Minturnese Club of Stamford. Maria took great joy in gardening and cooking.
Maria is survived by her sisters Antoinette Camerota of Stamford and Philomena Barek of England, her beloved nephews Pat Camerota and his wife Jill of Stamford, John Camerota of Stamford, Tony Esposito and his wife Debbie of Seymour and John Esposito of Westbrook. Her cherished grandnephews Joseph, John, Victor Camerota, and Tommaso Esposito and her grandniece’s Gina Camerota and Nicole Esposito.
Besides her parents Maria was predeceased by her husband Vittorio Migliarese, brother Tommaso Esposito, and sisters Pasqualina Chadunkin and Civita Esposito.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 27, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elm Street, Stamford, CT, at 11:00AM, Interment will follow at the St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT. Anthony Genovese

Anthony “Tony” John Genovese, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Tony was born in Stamford, CT to the late Lydia Raiteri Genovese and Vito William Anthony Genovese.
He graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1959 and attended Pace University. He was one of the youngest Captains in the National Guard. Tony was a proprietor of Lords Restaurant, Fieldstone Terrace, and owner of several wholesale food purveyors. His hard work paid off not only in terms of finance, but in his meeting and making new friends, enjoying many late nights hanging out listening to live music and eating good food.
Tony was lucky enough to meet the love of his life when she was in high school. He married Marie Panuzzo Genovese and they remained together for over 58 years. Family gatherings meant so much to Tony, whether it was a holiday or a Sunday out on the boat, he always wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Papa Tony was always up for a trip into NYC to spend time with his grandson. His passions included spending time at the shooting range and his love of Saint Bernards, having bred and raised over 25 dogs in his lifetime.
Tony is survived by his wife Marie, his son, Anthony John Genovese Jr., his daughter Tracy Genovese Mahoney, daughter in-law Meredith Genovese, his grandchildren Tanner Mahoney, “AJ” Genovese, Nicole Genovese Pelligrino, her husband Mike Pelligrino and Great Grandson Enzo Pelligrino. Tony is also survived by his siblings William “Billy” Genovese and his wife Betty, Carolyn Genovese Harvey and her husband John Harvey, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tony will be remembered as optimistic, fun loving and supportive. He was quick to let everyone know how special they were to him and never shied away from giving praise and encouragement. We are all so grateful to have had so many wonderful family times together! He enjoyed his life until the end and will be greatly missed.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue Stamford, CT on Monday, October 31st at 10:30am. The inurnment will follow mass at St. John Cemetery in Darien.

Claire O’Sullivan

Claire Dudas O’Sullivan, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Stamford, CT at Brighton Gardens of Stamford.

Claire was born on July 15,1926 in the Byram section of Greenwich, CT, the youngest of eight children of Margaret and Bela Dudas. She attended Greenwich schools and was active in sports and church activities at Sacred Heart Church in Byram, during her school years. After working in the secretarial field after high school graduation, she married John (Jack) O’Sullivan in 1948. They had three children, Kathy, Steve, and Sheila, before purchasing their lifelong home in Port Chester, NY in 1957.

Claire always celebrated life to the fullest! She loved her family, her faith, and her sports. She was happiest when attending her large family dinners and card games, with all her siblings and her nieces and nephews. She adored her grandchildren, Christopher, Kate, Tim, Jamie, and Lauren, and loved teaching them her card games and taking trips with them; laughing with them constantly. She was strong in her Catholic faith, applying her love of God to her daily life and caring for others as He asked us to do. Her prayer life was strong and sustained her always. Until very recently, she was always thrilled to cheer on her favorite sports teams, including Notre Dame football, the New York football teams, and the Mets. Claire loved to have a noisily good time, going to the casinos, playing Uno, Bocce Ball, laughing, singing, and looking for the party right until the end of her life.

Claire was predeceased by her husband Jack, her son Steven, sisters Marge, Betty, Ann, and Irene and brothers Willie, Ben, and Dick. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Bender (John) of Cornelius NC and Sheila Caporizo (Jim) of Stamford CT, grandchildren Chris Caporizo (Angelina) of Stamford, Jamie Caporizo of Reading, PA, Lauren Caporizo (Michele) of Lancaster,PA. Kate Baumann (Chris) of Gastonia NC and Tim Bender(Hayley) of Huntersville NC, as well as three great-grandchildren: Everett, Landry, and Hattie Bender.

Georgia Tournas

Georgia T. Tournas, 96 , of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born in Agios Konstantinos, Greece on April 20, 1926 to the late Ioannis and Vasiliki Louridas.
Georgia was an employee at Stelma, Inc. before retiring and was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Stamford. Georgia truly embodied what being a “yiayia” meant. She was an avid gardener, a chef, a baker and lover of soap operas. Her breakfasts were legendary. She loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart, and she will be truly missed.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Eleni Tournas and her husband Peter and Joann Rassias,as well as her son in law, Bobby Giangos and eight grandchildren, Dennis Rassias (Irene), Voula Varnavelias (Nick), Chris Tsihlis, Angela Frazis (Demetrios), Evangelia Tsihlis (Christos), Dimitrios Tournas, Anthony Giangos (Karina) and Theodoros Giangos and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Elizabeth Dimopoulos and Eleni Arvanitis.
Besides her parents, Georgia was predeceased by her husband Theodoros E. Tournas in 2017, her daughters, Irini Giangos and Vaso Tsihlis.
Family and friends may call at the Annuniciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held privately. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford.

Louis Greco

Louis E. Greco, 94, of Stamford entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
He was born in Stamford on May 4, 1928, the son of the late Frank and Anna Greco. In addition
to his parents, Louis is predeceased by his siblings and Lorraine Greco, his loving wife of 66
years.
Louis is survived by his beloved daughters, Diane Davenport, her husband John and
Carolyn Murphy and her husband, John along with nine wonderful grandchildren: Jessica, Laura,
Shawn, Brad, Adam, Katherine, Mary Jordana, Michael and Matthew, as well as seven adored
great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Miller, Nicholas, Henley, Evelyn, Penelope and Henry. He is also
survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Louis served in the Navy and enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing, swimming,
landscaping and horseback riding. He loved to travel, enjoying many adventures with Lorraine
and a group of their treasured, life-long friends. He always gave his best to his family and
friends and great effort to the jobs he held. He retired from maintenance work at Darien High
School. He was a hard worker, good listener, generous provider and willing helper with a great
sense of humor and smile. He was a kind, considerate person with a sincere desire to make
others happy. He lived a long and healthy life. He was truly a blessing in all of our lives. He will
be remembered with love and respect forever.

Linda Ferris

Linda Susan Ferris, 74, of Darien passed away peacefully on October 7, 2022 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Mount Kisco, NY on September 30, 1948 to the late Joseph and Emily Ciolek Turturino.
Linda served the community in Geriatrics for forty two years working virtually in all Stamford, Norwalk and Greenwich Nursing Homes and Hospitals. In her down time Linda was known for traveling the world, having made friends in every country she visited.
She is survived by her loving brother Mark Turturino (Linda) of Port Chester, NY, her cousins from Poland, the Dec family, her cousin, Monty Tillot (Monica) of South Salem, NY, her beloved dog Semper Fi, who was always by her side.

Anne Mintellus

Sr. Anne Calmita Lorancy Mintellus was born on March 16th, 1926 to Mr. Mintel Mintellus and Ms. Maricile Jadel in Cavaillon, Haiti. She worked as an entrepeneur where she would make wholesale purchases and sell products to the locals in her homeland. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in her home church, Eglise Baptiste de Labiche, in 1965. Soon, thereafter, she met the love of her life, Br. Lissage Lorancy, who was also a member of the said church. Sr. Mintellus and Br. Lorancy married and began a family in 1969. They lived a full and warm life filled with joy, happiness, and kindness surrounded by their 4 beautiful and lovely children Erzile, Willy, Rita, and Bertricia. Sr. Mintellus said goodbye to her bestfriend, Br. Lissage, in December 1986 and depended on the Lord to continue caring for her family.

Sr. Mintellus immigrated to the United States with her children in 1995 to Stamford, CT. Being the devout Christian she was, she joined Christ Sanctified Church of the Haitian Ministry family. She became a member of the choir and served faithfully for 27 years. Because of her gentle and quiet personality, she was loved by many and always made everyone feel welcome. She loved to share funny stories and always had a great smile. As she advanced in years, her health began to decline until her passing. She entered eternal rest peacefully on October 4, 2022, at 9:00 PM in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Sr. Mintellus leaves to cherish her memories with her 5 children and their spouses Erzile & Dusois Derosier, Rita & Jean Claude Bourbon, Bertricia & Maxo Decat, Asmine & Frantz Charles, Willy; her brothers and sisters Duvile Mintellus, Estave Mintellus, Gislene Mintellus, Dejois Mintellus; her 14 grandchildren and their spouses Aime & Natakie Brousseau, Annoncile & James Milus, Carmelle & Mario Nety, Elmita, Marc, Macorel, Kendall, Stephanie, Leila, Nathaelle, Alexandra, Sophonie, Destiny, and Jordyn; her 5 great-grandchildren Valerie-Joy, Ava-Grace, Daniel, Carter, Maelle; her many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.

Dil Puri

Dil Raj Puri passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, October 10th, 2022. She was fondly known by many names, Mom, Dadi, Puri ma, and Raj Aunty. Dil Raj was the embodiment of elegance, beauty, and grace. She left a lasting impression on every single person she encountered. She had a love for Bollywood movies, parties, and of course chole bhature and samosa kachori. She opened her home to so many and created a community for all. Anyone who entered her home was served with the highest level of class and hospitality, no one left the house with an empty stomach. Dil Raj continues to bond so many people together, she created friendships and relationships that will last through time. The world shined a little less bright the day she exited this world.

Dil Raj is preceded in death by her late husband Des Raj Puri and her late son, Sunil Puri. She is survived by her children and their spouses Neelam and Rakesh Narang, Poonam Kapoor, Renu and Ravi Saxena, Sanjiv and Kalpana Nino Puri, and Sunaina Puri as well as by grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carolyn Torre

Carolyn Torre a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on October 6, 2022, at the age of 91. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Andrew of 65 years, and her brothers Anthony and Peter Mancusi.
She retired from Pitney Bowes after 27 years, she was an administrator & made many friends.
Carolyn loved cooking, playing cards with friends but most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her children John Torre of Stamford, Patricia Crowley of Milford, and her Granddaughter Christina Torre of Stamford.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cassena Care of Stamford for their dedication to caring for both Andrew and Carolyn.

Edward Williams, Jr.

Edward H. Williams, Jr., 71, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Stamford on April 6, 1951 to the late Edward H. Williams, Sr. and Margaret Bowler Williams.
Edward was a graduate of SHS, Class of 1969 and was active with the Golden Gloves during the 1960’s as well as an avid Gymnast at Rogers School and Stamford High School during his younger years. He was employed at Metro North as a yard supervisor until his retirement.
Edward is survived by his daughters, Kristen Williams and Emily Williams, his brothers, Peter F. Williams and JoAnn Lowman of Stamford, Mark J. Williams and his wife Barbara of FL and his sister, Mary M. Buzzetto of Stamford. Also surviving is his grandson Reese and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Edward was also predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Richard Williams and a nephew, Michael Buzzetto.
