Rosa Giordano

Rosa Giordano, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Friday, September 27, 2024. Rosa was born on March 31, 1947, in Venosa, Italy to the late Teodoro and Emilia (Martino) Guarino. She was 77 years old at the time of her passing.
Rosa emigrated from Italy to the U.S. with her family in 1967. She met and married her loving husband, Antonio Giordano in 1969. They had two children and Rosa then took on the role of mother and homemaker. Roles that she took great pride in and excelled at.
Rosa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonio (Tony), in 2003 and is survived by her daughter Giovanna (Michael) Giordano, son Anthony (Sylvana) Giordano and two grandchildren Nino and Carmine Giordano. She also leaves behind her sister Antonietta (Giovanni) Gabriele and brothers Vincenzo (Imperia) Guarino and Pasquale Guarino along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Rosa loved spending time in the garden tending to her flowers and plants. When she wasn’t in the garden, she was in the kitchen preparing delicious meals for her family. She loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren telling stories and laughing. Rosa will be remembered most for her warmth, her resilience and her humor.
A wake for Rosa will take place at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, in Stamford, on Wednesday, October 2nd from 4PM to 7PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 3rd at 10:30AM at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, in Stamford. The interment will immediately follow mass at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford.
