Claire O’Sullivan

Claire Dudas O’Sullivan, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Stamford, CT at Brighton Gardens of Stamford.

Claire was born on July 15,1926 in the Byram section of Greenwich, CT, the youngest of eight children of Margaret and Bela Dudas. She attended Greenwich schools and was active in sports and church activities at Sacred Heart Church in Byram, during her school years. After working in the secretarial field after high school graduation, she married John (Jack) O’Sullivan in 1948. They had three children, Kathy, Steve, and Sheila, before purchasing their lifelong home in Port Chester, NY in 1957.

Claire always celebrated life to the fullest! She loved her family, her faith, and her sports. She was happiest when attending her large family dinners and card games, with all her siblings and her nieces and nephews. She adored her grandchildren, Christopher, Kate, Tim, Jamie, and Lauren, and loved teaching them her card games and taking trips with them; laughing with them constantly. She was strong in her Catholic faith, applying her love of God to her daily life and caring for others as He asked us to do. Her prayer life was strong and sustained her always. Until very recently, she was always thrilled to cheer on her favorite sports teams, including Notre Dame football, the New York football teams, and the Mets. Claire loved to have a noisily good time, going to the casinos, playing Uno, Bocce Ball, laughing, singing, and looking for the party right until the end of her life.
