Jennie Ann Serricchio

Jennie Ann Serricchio, 89, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born in Stamford on July 26, 1934 to the late Michael and Emily D’Aquila Ofiero.
Jennie was a devoted daughter to her parents and helped in raising her five siblings. She was a Knights of Columbus Columbiette and an active member of St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church. Jennie was a bank teller for many years as well as volunteering at Northeast School. She was a library aide at Westover School and volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels. Her door was always open and there was always food on the table for all of her children, grandchildren and friends, being affectionately referred to as Mama Lu or Nana.
Jennie is survived by her daughter JoAnn Stanley, her son Thomas Serricchio and his wife Laurel, her daughter Laurie Hollander and her husband Ted and her son John Serricchio and his wife Letecia. Her siblings; Robert Ofiero and his wife Lenore, Annette Rich, Michael Ofiero and his wife Fran and Gale Cerrato and her husband Gerry, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews, also survive.
Besides her parents, Jennie is predeceased by her loving husband Rudolph “Rudy” Serricchio, her brother Francis Ofiero, son-in-law Michael Kyek and her great-grandson Gabriel Wilkinson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien, CT. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jennie’s memory to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, 461 Glenbrook Rd, Stamford, CT 06906.
