Vincent Pangia

Vincent M. Pangia, III, 56, of Greenwich, passed away on August 4, 2022 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Greenwich, on February 24, 1966 to Vincent M. Pangia, II and the late Francine Mann Pangia.

A carpenter by trade, Vinny worked independently and in association with other carpenters in the Fairfield County area for many years. He loved his profession and building things from wood. Vinny also loved dirt bikes, classic cars and pick up trucks.

He played baseball for a number of years with the Byram Vets. A graduate of Greenwich High School class of 1984, Vinny loved dogs and is still remembered by family to this day walking his beloved and devoted Husky, Iggy, around the streets of Byram.

As a child, Vinny trailed along with his grandpa, Vinny the first, and the two were seldom apart. A favorite destination of the two Vinnys was the beach or his aunt’s pool, where he was the first kid in and the last kid out of the water (unless the BBQ was ready)!

Vinny was a devoted friend and mentor for many years to Peter Blechner, Jr. He was loved by Pete’s family and friends, and they all became very close over the years.

He will be remembered by all for his giving heart, his hearty, wholesome laugh and tremendous sense of humor. All who met him liked or loved him and will hold him close to their hearts.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his aunt, Gloria P. Strazza, numerous cousins and many close and loyal friends.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Interment will be held at later date at St. Mary’s Cemetary, North Street, Greenwich, CT.
